Graduation and Birthday

Today I graduated from college. I walked early, which means I still have 2 classes to take during the summer. The ceremony lasted 2 1/2 hours. I can't wait to finish the 2 classes and finally finish college. I've been taking classes for 5 years. I had to move out of my dorm at 6 in the morning. I went to bed at 2 and got up at 5 and spent an hour packing and cleaning the room. The doors to the dorm closed at 10. Graduation was at 9.

My birthday is on the 4th. I'm so glad I'll be home for my birthday. I've already missed my brother's and my dad's. And I'm probably going to miss my mom's because I'll be taking classes this summer. What I really want for my birthday is Merlin season 1 on dvd. It came out in the US 2 weeks ago. I've only been into the show about 1 1/2 months and I love the show. And I love Arthur and Merlin and the actors who play them Bradley James and Colin Morgan.

For my birthday my dad might take off half a day from work so we can do something. Then for dinner we're going to Outback Steakhouse.

As a graduation/birthday present my brother got his friend to draw me this. My brother knows how much I love Supernatural.

RIP Corey Haim

I woke up this morning, checked my email from my phone. I got an email from zap2it.com that said Corey Haim has died. He was one of my favorite actors. I loved him in The Lost Boys and a few other films. It's so sad. He will be missed.

I have this poster on my wall in my room at home.

Writer's Block: Surfin’ Safari

Do you bring your laptop on vacation? Is it to do work or homework or just for the joy of surfing/connecting?

I always bring my laptop with me on vacation. I can't live without the Internet or email. Usually I just surf for fun. I spend a lot of time on my computer just surfing, reading fanfiction, or playing games. I also spend a lot of time listening to music on iTunes. I have songs in my iTunes that I don't have on my iPod.

My First Tattoo

Today I got my first tattoo. It's on my foot. It really hurt. Especially when it hit the bone. Still kind of stings.I've been wanting to get a tattoo since I turned 18, 4 years ago. I've been putting off. Because I was scared or didn't have the money and I didn't want to go alone. My roommate and her boyfriend took me. It took about 30 minutes and costs $85 with tip.

What the Hell?

I was really looking forward to tonight's episode of Supernatural. I was watching The Vampire Diaries, seeing the commercials for tonight's episode, getting excited as the minutes pasted till Supernatural came on. But guess what. It's not on. Because (since I live on campus) my school decided they would rather air the basketball game. Seriously, the one night of the week that I look forward to the most and the show that I love the most, I can't watch because of a basketball game. There are not that many good shows out there that I watch. Why did they have to show the game on when Supernatural is on? I guess I'm going have to wail until tomorrow to watch it. But its not the same. I'd rather watch it when it first airs.

Writer's Block: School daze

Did you remain at the same school(s) or transfer to a number of different schools growing up? How did your early educational experiences impact your self-esteem and confidence?

I went to 4 different schools between kindergarten and 12th grade. From kindergarten to 4th grade I was in public school. From 5th grade to 12th grade I went to Catholic school. After kindergarten, my parents decided to move me to another school. I loved my elementary school. I had close friends there. Sometime after 4th grade started my parents started looking at Catholic schools. So after 4th grade was over, I started 5th grade at a Catholic school where I only knew 2 kids in my class. One had gone to the same elementary school as me. The other was my aunt's goddaughter. We meet over the summer, that way I at least knew one person going in. I hated it at that school. I became very quite and shy. I'm still very shy and quite. I don't like to be around a lot of people. The school I went to started wtih EC-3 (3 year olds) and ended with 8th grade. So by the time I got there in 5th grade, everyone had already known each other since they were about 3. There's only 1 class for each grade and a student body of about 300. I was so happy when I graduated. I loved my high school. It was a great school. I was able to get away from the kids I went to school with from 5th to 8th grade. I'm glad my parents put me in Catholic school. I had a great education.

Third Week of Classes and Supernatural

I can't believe it’s the third week of classes already. This semester is going to go by so fast. If I pass all of my classes this semester I'll be able to graduate. With 2 classes remaining. Which I will take online. My parents won't pay for another semester at school. It's too expensive. Especially because I live on campus. I'm going on my fifth year of college. And I am so ready to graduate. The big question is what am I going to do once I graduate. My major is Social Science with a primary focus on Anthropology and a secondary focus on Sociology. This semester I am taking Sociology of Sexualities, Sociology of Sex and Gender, Fundamentals of Archaeology, and as an elective Harry Potter, Religion, and Other 20th Century Fantasy Literature.

For the Harry Potter class we are going to read The Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix, Prisoner of Azkaban, Half-Blood Prince, and the Deathly Hallows, Lord of the Ring, and His Dark Materials. I haven't read any of these books. Right now we're reading The Chronicles of Narnia.

At the beginning of the semester I started with 6 classes and 24 papers to write, 17 books to read (not including textbooks), and 12 movies to watch. I ended up dropping 2 classes because it was such a heavy class load. Now I'm down to 4 classes, 10 papers, and 17 books to read.

So far I like the classes. They're very interesting. I just got out of my Sociology of Sexualities class. We were watching a movie on Alfred Kinsey. I like the Harry Potter class because I love to read and I've been wanting to read the Harry Potter books for awhile now. I tried reading them when I was younger. Never got into them. But now that I'm older I want to give them another try.

Anyway enough with school. I cannot wait until Supernatural begins. I've been dying to see new episodes. Last week I got my new Supernatural shirt which I will on Thursday. I have so much Supernatural stuff including 2 shirts, all of the books and comic books, and magazines (except the first one). I saw the clip of the new episode, where Sam and Dean are telling a doctor about how Sam started the apocalypse. I can't wait to see it. It looks really good. I wonder if this is going to be the last season or not. Where do you go after the apocalypse? As much as I love the show and would love to see it continue, I would like to see it end without dragging it out.

So far I'm really liking this season so far. Except when Sam and Dean split up. I'm also really liking Castiel this season. I did not like him last season. He's growing on me. Season 4 was not my favorite season. There are only a couple of episodes I can stand to watch.

Every morning, except when I'm in class, I watch Supernatural on TNT. This morning was Faith. I think season 1 is my favorite season. Before the whole special kids, demon blood, demons and angels, and the end of the world.

Writer's Block: Bottoms up!

How do you usually spend New Years Eve? Do you like big parties, small celebrations with friends, or do you prefer to hang out by yourself? Is New Years a time of reflection for you?

I don't like going to parties. Usually I'll spend the day watching The Twilight Zone marathon. Then after 11 my family and me will go downtown to find a parking garage or some place to wait until the fireworks. On New Year's Day my mom fixes Hoppin' John, which is a Southern dinner my mom fixes every year. Hoppin' John is black eyed peas, rice with diced tomatoes and green onion, and collard greens. Everything represents something. Collard greens equal money. So the more greens you eat the more money you will make in the coming year.

Writer's Block: Tonight, tonight

If you celebrate Christmas, what will you do this evening? If you don't, will you still do something festive or is it just another night?

Tonight my dad is grilling steaks. After dinner me and my brother will open 2 presents. Well, 1 present and pajamas. Every year, except last year we get pajamas. It's tradition. Some time today I have to finish wrapping presents for tomorrow. I just have a couple left. That's about it.

Writer's Block: Twilight becomes you

Have you seen New Moon? If so, how do you think it compared to the book? Was it better or worse than Twilight? Please, no spoilers!

I went to the midnight showing opening night. It was great. Better than the book and better than Twilight. Gonna see it again in a couple of days. Twilight the book is way better than New Moon the book.
